It is real hard to put an animal down, we had to today for my 19yr old cat, Hilde. All of her organs were failing, just overnight. It is the humane thing to do, no matter how hard it is. She pulled through for so long and was determined, we wondered how long she would make it. We could not see her suffer anymore. Im glad we go to good vets, after all your animals become part of your family and life. I also am glad to been able to have that many years to be blessed with a one of a kind animal.

My heart goes out to you ! I know how hard it can be having one put down, even when it's the best thing that we can do for them at that stage in their life....It's sad to see them suffer so, and sad to have say our goodbyes because like you said they do become part of the family.


Right now, as I'm typing this I've got my "Princess" in my lap....she's my almost 8 year old calico. She's the best cat I ever have owned and hope to have as many years with her as you did Hilde !

I am sorry to hear about your cat. It is such a hard decision to make but the best one for our pet when they are suffering.

I like Calicos, I use to have one when I was a kid. They say male calicos are rare, always wanted to get one someday.
